We believe that healing is not logical, linear, or limited, and that a being healthy is a practice, not a singular achievement. Much like the thistle, (which is both a common weed and a venerated herb), wellness can be found in small changes and the right environment to flourish.

Sarah Langthorne L.Ac, Owner and Founder
Sarah Langthorne, L.Ac is a licensed acupuncturist and board-certified herbalist with over 15 years’ experience in the healthcare field. She is member of the National Committee for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, as well as a member of both the Illinois Society of Acupuncturists and Indiana Society of Acupuncturists. She graduated with her master’s degree from Pacific College of Health and Science with extensive training in herbal medicine and trauma informed care. She specializes in orthopedics, women’s health, and emotional disorders such as anxiety and depression.

Thistle & Thorne is in-network with several insurance companies and can help confirm your insurance coverage for acupuncture treatments, (see our insurance page to complete our insurance form). If acupuncture is not covered under your specific plan, we also offer various treatment packages to keep your treatments as accessible as possible.
Acupuncture Initial Visit
During your initial visit, we will discuss your health history, goals with acupuncture, and answer any questions you might have about the process. This session will also create a treatment plan to address your needs and set your expectations for your following treatments.

Acupuncture Follow-Up
Your Follow-Up appointments will include a discussion of how your symptoms have changed and a treatment designed to fit your progress. Because these treatments are more focused on maintaining and adjusting your treatment plan, you will have more time to relax throughout acupuncture your treatment.

Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is one of the original forms of medicine and is still a basis for modern pharmaceuticals. Our herbal providers are board-certified, with thousands of hours of study and specialization. Your herbal formula is a great way to support your health goals or even extend the time between treatments.

Gua Sha and Cupping
Cupping and gua sha appointments are shorter treatments that focus on pain relief, stress management, recovery from a cold or illness, and injury treatment. They are as relaxing as they are effective and are perfect for patients who prefer not to receive acupuncture or have a limited amount of time for appointments.
