How We Treat

The unique thing about acupuncture is that it is both effective at quickly resolving symptoms, and invaluable as a system of preventative care. Our goal is to address your acute symptoms quickly and reduce your treatment frequency as your body returns to a more balanced state. We don’t want you to rely on us, we are here to become part of your care team to keep you healthy.

The “Fix It Now” Phase

This treatment strategy is designed for acute issues, flares of chronic issues, or if there are multiple comorbidities which need to be addressed. Examples include an active migraine, recent injury, menstrual cramping, a flare of IBS or pain, or the onset of a cold or illness. The “fix it now” method typically requires multiple treatments within a few days, focusing on rapidly reducing symptoms when they arise. We utilize this method to quickly reduce symptoms and bring your body back to a manageable state.

The Active Care Phase

This phase is for treatment of more chronic conditions, such as hormonal imbalances, chronic pain or injuries, fertility treatments, which may require a more regular, long-term treatment strategy to retrain and balance your system. Treatments are less frequent as the “fix it now” phase, usually about 1-2 times per week. This phase is still a corrective phase, and regularity is required to continue to see improvement in your conditions. Treatment frequency can adjust depending on how your body responds to treatment, and how your symptoms change.

The Maintenance Phase

Once we have met your goals and brought your system back into balance, it is important to maintain your health with regular, monthly visits. These visits help to prevent symptoms from returning, and act as a relaxing “tune-up” for your preventative care. Our ultimate goal is that patients do not rely only on acupuncture for their corrective care. We educate patients throughout the course of their treatment so that they are well-equipped to maintain their health between visits. Following treatment, many patients continue more frequent treatment as a relaxing part of their self-care routine.

“I came in for shoulder and back pain. I walked out feeling like a million dollars. Highly recommend.”
