Our Services
-
Initial Visit: During your initial visits, you will work with your provider to discuss your health goals, review your health history and create a treatment plan to address your concerns.
Follow-Up Visits: During your follow-up visits, you will speak with your provider about changes in your symptoms and can make adjustments to your treatment plan. You will also have more time to relax during treatment as you will not need to review your health history.
If Acupuncture is not covered by your insurance plan, Thistle & Thorne offers various treatment packages to keep your treatments as accessible as possible.

Herbal Medicine is an option for patients who cannot make all of their recommended appointments, prefer herbal medicine to pharmaceutical intervention, or need extra support between treatments. All herbs are third-party tested and your herbal formula is customized to fit you by licensed and board-certified herbalists.
-
T&T offers gua sha and cupping only appointments, which are shorter treatments that focus on pain relief, stress management, recovery from a cold or illness, and injury prevention and treatment. These appointments are as effective as they are relaxing.

Free consultations are available for anyone who is new to acupuncture or is curious about how it will help with their new health goals. Please note that we cannot provide medical advice over the phone.
How We Treat
The “Fix It Now” Phase
This treatment strategy is designed for acute issues, flares of chronic issues, or if there are multiple comorbidities which need to be addressed. Examples include an active migraine, acute injury, menstrual cramping, a flare of IBS or pain, or the onset of a cold or illness. The “fix it now” method typically requires multiple treatments within a few days, focusing on rapidly reducing symptoms when they arise. We utilize this method to quickly reduce symptoms and bring your body back to a manageable state.
The Active Care Phase
This phase is for treatment of more chronic conditions, such as hormonal imbalances, chronic pain or injuries, fertility treatments, which may require a more regular, long-term treatment strategy to retrain and balance your system. Treatments are less frequent as the “fix it now” phase, usually about 1-2 times per week. This phase is still a corrective phase, and regularity is required to continue to see improvement in your conditions. Treatment frequency can adjust depending on how your body responds to treatment, and how your symptoms change.
The Maintenance Phase
Once we have met your goals and brought your system back into balance, it is important to maintain your health with regular, monthly visits. These visits help to prevent symptoms from returning, and act as a relaxing “tune-up” for your preventative care. Our ultimate goal is that patients do not rely only on acupuncture for their corrective care. We educate patients throughout the course of their treatment so that they are well-equipped to maintain their health between visits. Following treatment, many patients continue more frequent treatment as a relaxing part of their self-care routine.
Treatment Packages
To keep acupuncture as accessible as possible, we offer several treatment packages for patients who are paying out of pocket. We also accept FSA and HSA cards.
Thistle & Thorne has a 24-hr cancellation policy. Any appointments cancelled within 24 hours, or any no-show appointments will be charged a cancellation fee or 1 treatment if utilizing a treatment package.
